POPULAR YORUBA ACTOR AJIGIJAGA DIES FROM INJURIES SUSTAINED IN OKADA ACCIDENT



Popular Yoruba actor, Mufutau Adio popularly known as Ajigijaga has died from injuries he sustained in an Okada accident about two weeks ago.
The 60-year-old actor who was equally known as Broken Bottle and was famous for interpreting crime scripts died on Friday at his residence at Oko-Oba, Agege in Lagos State.
Sources said he was usually a passenger on motorcycle popularly called Okada because he had no car. And about two weeks ago, he was involved in an Okada accident around Lagos West and sustained serious injuries.
It was said that he was rushed to a private hospital around Oko-Oba but died few days after he was discharged.

According to his first cousin, a former Councillor in Agege, Hon. Haruna Yussuf who spoke with OrijoReporter, Ajigijaga’s remains was yesterday buried at Akihale in Ewekoro area of Ogun State according to funeral rites in Islam.
Hon. Yussuf revealed that a 3-day Fidau prayer will on Sunday commence for the repose of the soul of the actor at Alagbado, a Lagos suburb.
His colleague, and President of The Golden Movie Ambassador, Saheed Balogun said in an interview that he learnt about Ajigijaga’s death from his children.
According to him, “Ajigijaga’s death is a big loss to the movie industry, especially to members of The Golden Movie Ambassadors. Just last week, he called me to explain why he couldn’t attend our last monthly meeting.
“I can recall that he mentioned that his absence was due to injuries he sustained in a motor-bike accident about two weeks ago. I was shocked this morning to get a call from one of his children that he has passed on.
“We shall miss his useful contributions to discussions on how to move the movie industry forward and instil discipline and professionalism in our members. May his soul rest in peace.”
Born on July 15, 1955 in Ogun State, Ajigijaga was a staff of P&T (now NITEL) before joining the movie industry in 1981.
