Then I thought about what women are called, “slut”, “skank”, “LovePeddler,” and came to the realization that these so called ‘gentlemen’ needed (at least) one name to settle the score. Enter, the appreciation of “fuckboy.”

What is a “fuckboy”? Let’s start by breaking down the word. The word “Bleep” is an English word, an obscene word which refers to the act of sexual intercourse and is also commonly used to denote disdain of a person, and a “boy” is a male child. Not a man. So a “fuckboy” is an obscenely behaved male child. Sounds about right.

On Urban Dictionary, the definitions are sparse and somewhat frightening. They range from “A manipulating dick who does whatever it takes to benefit him, regardless of who he screws over,” to “the lowest possible form of the vile, degenerate waste pouring from the proverbial asshole of society.” According to Pacific Standard, a “fuckboy” “is not a dating style [or necessarily single guy] so much as a worldview that reeks of entitlement but is aghast at the prospect of putting in effort.”

Ultimately, a “fuckboy” is a guy who doesn’t respect women. At their worst they are narcissistic tools who refer to women by previously-mentioned unflattering terms, at their best they are guys who make you feel like you owe them something you can’t quite put your finger on, while insisting to others you aren’t exclusive… we have all been there. HE PUTS IN VERY LITTLE EFFORT

Firstly, (if he doesn’t blow you off) he only wants to go out with you during the work week – weekends are a no go. Secondly, he always texts and never calls you, expecting you to be the one that constantly follows up. Thirdly he never shows you affection in public unless no one is around, and finally, he booty calls you late at night. The sneaky way a “fuckboy” booty calls, though, is to make you feel like you are in a relationship with him, so the booty call is your choice, too.

HE CAN’T DEFINE WHAT YOU ARE

When you are dating a real “fuckboy,” you always feel like you are on the cusp of ‘the talk’, but months go by and you are definitely no way near being his girlfriend. You have to be taken to a senior person who may give you the needed clearance to see her,’’ a staff in the ward told VF. On that note, VF was led out by a female employee, while the patient he had come to see, looked downcast.

After consultation with several officers of the hospital, VF  was politely informed that he cannot see the patient.

‘’We understand your interest, but we don’t allow media interview with our patients. You can talk to her when she is discharged. You are free to visit during visiting hours but not to interview her,’’ a senior official of the hospital said. The obviously disappointed patient later called VF on phone and it was then  that an appointment was fixed for another day.

A yet to be identified middle-aged woman has been reportedly killed in a ghastly motor accident  Wednesday morning at Ketu Bus Stop along Ikorodu Road.

A truck knocked down the woman at about 8am.

When Vanguard visited the scene the corpse of the deceased has been covered with a piece of cloth while policemen were on ground to ensure the truck driver is not lynched by a crowd that had gathered at the scene.

A teenager stabbed at a Gay Pride march died of her injuries Sunday as the attack and a firebombing that killed a Palestinian child put pressure on Israel to crack down on Jewish extremists.

Shira Banki, 16, was among six people stabbed at the Jerusalem march on Thursday by a suspect identified as an ultra-Orthodox Jew released from prison only weeks earlier for a similar attack.

The five other victims suffered light injuries.

Banki’s family said Shira had been murdered because “she came to support the rights of her friends and any person to live as they wish”.

“For no reason and due to evil, stupidity and negligence, the life of our wonderful flower was cut off,” they said in a statement.

2 killed, 4 injured in N14 head-on collision

Johannesburg - Two men were killed and four other people injured in a head-on collision on the N14 about 10km outside Ventersdorp on Sunday morning, paramedics said.

During the collision one of the vehicles overturned and came to a standstill on its side, Netcare 911 spokesperson Santi Steinmann said.

The two men were declared dead on the scene.

The four injured were transported to hospital.

Misuse of contact lenses can lead to loss of sight – Stylist

Lagos – Kemi Adetutu, a stylist at Goodlooks Beauty Place, Bariga, on Saturday said that the misuse of contact lenses could lead to complications and loss of sight.

Adetutu told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that contact lenses had better peripheral vision than spectacles; but opticians should be consulted before use.

“People wear contact lens for corrective treatment and mostly aesthetic purposes because, over 90 per cent of the people I fix it for, do it for beauty.

“Most people that wear contacts for aesthetics hardly consult opticians, and that is very dangerous.

Benin sends 800 troops to fight Boko Haram

Benin’s President Thomas Boni Yayi announced he will send 800 troops to join a new multinational force tasked with fighting Boko Haram militants after meeting with his Nigerian counterpart Muhammadu Buhari Saturday.

Buhari, who was sworn in on May 29, is facing a particularly deadly surge of Islamist violence at home, with more than 800 people killed in north-eastern Nigeria in the last two months.

The violence has spread to neighbours Chad and Cameroon, both of whom have faced an unprecedented wave of suicide bombings on their soil in recent weeks.

After a visit to Cameroon earlier this week to discuss the fight against the Islamist group, Buhari was in Cotonou to attend celebrations marking Benin’s 55 years of independence.

FEMALE TEACHER ASSASSINATED AFTER VISITING SON IN SCHOOL

A female teacher has been assassinated in Nsukka in Enugu State while she was on her way home after visiting her undergraduate son in Nnamdi Azikwe University.

Princess Uzoamaka Onyishi(pictured) was a teacher with Urban Boys Secondary school, Nsukka, and last week she was cut down at her prime at age 40 by two unknown gunmen, who ambushed her about 200 metres to her house at Uwani-Ugwu in Nsuka metropolis.

The mother-of-five was said to have earlier visited her first son, Chidera Onyishi, a first year student at the Department of Political Science, at the University campus, and was returning home around 8.00pm in her blue-coloured Toyota Corolla, which she drove and had her younger cousin in it as the only passenger.

It was said that she slowed her car at a flooded spot close to her residence at Uwani-Ugwu when one of the two gunmen on motorcycle, who had been lurking around pulled out a gun and shot her in the head.

Princess was said to have died on the spot. Her widower, Sunday Onyishi, a popular transporter in Nsuka in an interview while lamenting the circumstances surrounding her death, said she would be sorely missed.

He said, “The whole thing still sound strange to me. I still could not believe that my wife was killed like a common thief. We have been married for the past 22 years and blessed with five children.

“I am a transporter. Nobody has ever complained to me that she had problem with her. I don’t know why she was killed. 

When my sister in- law rushed to me and broke the news of her death, I rushed shouting, neighbours joined me, we combed the entire place but could not see the killers. Then we invited the police to see what happened.

 I am not suspecting anybody but the killers of my wife will definitely be brought to book. We moved in into our own building five months ago.

 Her killers did not allow her enjoy the house she laboured for all these years of hardship. I want the police to unearth the surroundings of her killing by faceless two young men.”

POPULAR YORUBA ACTOR AJIGIJAGA DIES FROM INJURIES SUSTAINED IN OKADA ACCIDENT

Popular Yoruba actor, Mufutau Adio popularly known as Ajigijaga has died from injuries he sustained in an Okada accident about two weeks ago.

The 60-year-old actor who was equally known as Broken Bottle and was famous for interpreting crime scripts died on Friday at his residence at Oko-Oba, Agege in Lagos State.

Sources said he was usually a passenger on motorcycle popularly called Okada because he had no car. And about two weeks ago, he was involved in an Okada accident around Lagos West and sustained serious injuries.

It was said that he was rushed to a private hospital around Oko-Oba but died few days after he was discharged.

Nigeria attacks kill 16 as force chief promises to crush Boko Haram

Kano - A female suicide bomber and Boko Haram gunmen killed 16 people in Nigeria as the commander of a new multinational force tasked with fighting the Islamists pledged on Friday to crush the insurgency "very soon".

Major General Iliya Abbah's appointment in an Abuja ceremony as chief of the 8 700-strong force came as a woman bomber on a tricycle killed six people in a busy market in Maiduguri, the largest city in Nigeria's restive north-eastern Borno state.

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, who won the election in March this year on a promise to defeat the jihadists, said Friday the new task force would "lead to the speedy defeat and elimination of Boko Haram", according to a statement.

Meanwhile reports emerged that the jihadists had struck neighbouring Yobe state, killing at least 10 people including two women on Wednesday evening in a revenge attack against local vigilantes, a local official told AFP on Friday.

Dozens of Clinton emails censored for security reasons

Washington - Dozens of emails that traversed Hillary Clinton's private, unsecure home server contain national security information are now deemed too sensitive to make public, according to the latest batch of records released on Friday.

In 2,206 pages of emails, the government censored passages to protect national security at least 64 times in 37 messages. Clinton has said she never sent classified information from her private email server, which The Associated Press was first to identify as operating in her home in New York.

The Friday release brings the volume of emails publicly released by the State Department to roughly 12% of the 55 000 pages Clinton had turned over to department lawyers earlier this year.

President Buhari Authorizes 5 Billion Naira For Boko Haram Victims

President Muhammadu Buhari has commissioned the release of 5 billion naira to support victims of Boko Haram bomb attacks. The Head of Service of the Federation, Danladi Kifasi, will be facilitating the release of the funds which were pledged by the Federal Government in August 2014 as part of the Victim Support Fund (VSF).

President Buhari’s directive was given after a briefing with the the VSF Presidential Committee headed by former Defence Minister, Theophilus Danjuma. Danjuma told the President that 33.54 billion of 55.93 billion naira raised for the victims has yet to be accounted for.

Australian woman who had baby with boy, 12 is jailed

Melbourne - A woman who had regular sex with her daughter's 12-year-old friend and fathered his baby was on Monday jailed for up to six years, with the judge saying she took away his childhood.

The Melbourne mother-of-three, who cannot be named to protect the boy and the baby's identity, was 36 when she began driving her daughter and her friend to school in 2011.

The Victoria County Court heard that she admitted developing feelings for the child and began a relationship with him, with the pair having sex without using condoms.

The Melbourne Age newspaper reported that the abuse went on for two years and she became pregnant, giving birth to a girl in May last year when the boy was 14.

When the victim's parents found out about the relationship, they confronted the woman and reported her to police. A DNA test confirmed he was the baby's father.

Girl, 14, killed in Kimberley house fire

Cape Town - A 14-year-old girl died in a house fire in Monument Heights, Kimberley on Friday night.

ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing confirmed paramedics and other emergency services were alerted to the fire last night and on arrival found the house ablaze.

“A woman and two children, believed to be a 12-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy, had made it out the house safely. They were found in the yard,” Bodasing confirmed.

The flames were too high for the firemen to get into the building, she said, and when Fire and Rescue Services extinguished the fire, they found a girl in one of the corridors in the house.
